I’ve really enjoyed creating my summer mail art. My lettering has come more naturally and I feel like I am finally finding my style and seeing improvement. I’ve also had immense fun with my rubber stamps, which make even the simplest of mail art look utterly fabulous!
Summer also saw the launch of the Guernsey Letter Writers Society and I was delighted to gather with like minded people to writer letters and send a little love into the world.
Here are the stats for my outgoing mail during summer: I have sent 31 postcards, 7 letters and 8 cards to a total of 21 countries.
*(Armenia, Australia, Canada, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Guernsey, India, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Ukraine, U.S.A.)
Spring has been a fun filled season of snail mail for me as I got to put all the new stationery supplies from my birthday to good use. I discovered some fabulous new-to-me stationery designers (links at the end of this post), sent mail out from London and finally entered the Top 10 ranking of Postcrossers from Guernsey – woo!
Anyway, here are the stats for my outgoing mail during spring: I have sent 56 postcards, 8 letters, 15 cards and 1 parcel to a total of 18 countries.
*(Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Guernsey, India, Latvia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Russia, Sweden, Taiwan, U.S.A.)
It’s officially the last few days of Autumn with Winter taking over on the seasonal reigns on December 21st.
I sure love my snail mail but admit I have scaled things down a little this autumn, partly because of new weekly rhythms and partly because I’ve intentionally scaled back on my Postcrossing so as to save some time, energy and pennies for other things.
So rather than post my outgoing mail shots on a monthly basis, I think I’ll share these with you more seasonally.
Here are my stats from my outgoing mail during autumn: I have sent 47 postcards, 3 letters, 14 cards and 1 parcel to a total of 21 countries.
*(Australia, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Czech Republic, England, Finland, Germany, Japan, Latvia, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Taiwan, Ukraine, U.S.A.)
I thought September was going to be a slower month on the snail mail front due to The Husby and I going on a short city break and having some staycation time on island, however I actually squeezed in a surprising amount of letter writing before heading off to Latvia.
So here are this months stats; I have sent 30 postcards, 2 letters, 2 cards and 1 parcel to a total of 16 countries.
August has been a fun month of snail mailing for me, full of bright colours and lots of flowers and summertime inspiration. I finally started dabbling with brush lettering this month so incorporated this into a few pieces of mail art and I again joined in the More Love Letters initiative and hope to make this a regular thing.
So here are this months stats: I have sent 23 postcards, 3 letters and 2 cards to a total of 13 countries.
*(Belarus, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, South Africa, Taiwan, Ukraine, U.S.A.)
Here are some of the shots:
Did you manage to send some happy mail this month?
July has been a productive month of snail mail for me and another month of firsts. If you remember last month I had my first piece of mail go missing? Well this month I had my first piece of mail returned (the piece that went missing last month!) and it just goes to show it really is worth putting a return address on the envelope!
I also sent postcards to Israel and Sri Lanka for the first time, received my first mail from a new penpal in Hawaii and finally got round to penning a few words of encouragement as part of the More Love Letters initiative.
So here are this months stats: 26 postcards, 6 cards, 3 parcels and 2 letters to a total of 20 different countries.
