Outgoing in Autumn

Autumn has been a busy season for me with the launch of the Guernsey Letter Writers Society back in September, but the monthly letter writing socials are proving productive and I enjoy the dedicated time for writing letters and sharing snail mail trivia with friends.

Here are the stats for my outgoing mail during autumn: I have sent 36 postcards, 11 letters, 39 cards and 1 parcel to a total of 14 countries.

*(Australia, Canada, China, Czech Republic, England, Germany, Guernsey, Italy, Latvia, New Zealand, Poland, Russia, Sri Lanka, U.S.A.)

Here are some of the shots:

Outgoing in Summer

I’ve really enjoyed creating my summer mail art. My lettering has come more naturally and I feel like I am finally finding my style and seeing improvement. I’ve also had immense fun with my rubber stamps, which make even the simplest of mail art look utterly fabulous!

Summer also saw the launch of the Guernsey Letter Writers Society and I was delighted to gather with like minded people to writer letters and send a little love into the world.

Here are the stats for my outgoing mail during summer: I have sent 31 postcards, 7 letters and 8 cards to a total of 21 countries.

*(Armenia, Australia, Canada, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Guernsey, India, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Ukraine, U.S.A.)

Outgoing in Autumn

It’s officially the last few days of Autumn with Winter taking over on the seasonal reigns on December 21st.

I sure love my snail mail but admit I have scaled things down a little this autumn, partly because of new weekly rhythms and partly because I’ve intentionally scaled back on my Postcrossing so as to save some time, energy and pennies for other things.

So rather than post my outgoing mail shots on a monthly basis, I think I’ll share these with you more seasonally.

Here are my stats from my outgoing mail during autumn: I have sent 47 postcards, 3 letters, 14 cards and 1 parcel to a total of 21 countries.

*(Australia, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Czech Republic, England, Finland, Germany, Japan, Latvia, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Taiwan, Ukraine, U.S.A.)

Outgoing in September

I thought September was going to be a slower month on the snail mail front due to The Husby and I going on a short city break and having some staycation time on island, however I actually squeezed in a surprising amount of letter writing before heading off to Latvia.

So here are this months stats; I have sent 30 postcards, 2 letters, 2 cards and 1 parcel to a total of 16 countries.

*(Australia, Canada, China, England, Finland, Germany, Guernsey, Japan, Latvia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Russia, Taiwan, Ukraine, U.S.A.)

Outgoing in August

August has been a fun month of snail mailing for me, full of bright colours and lots of flowers and summertime inspiration. I finally started dabbling with brush lettering this month so incorporated this into a few pieces of mail art and I again joined in the More Love Letters initiative and hope to make this a regular thing.

So here are this months stats: I have sent 23 postcards, 3 letters and 2 cards to a total of 13 countries.

*(Belarus, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, South Africa, Taiwan, Ukraine, U.S.A.)

Outgoing in June

June has felt like a slower month on the snail mail front. Partly because lots of my penpals have been on holidays and I’m still waiting for their return mail and partly because most of my postcards sent through Postcrossing were sent to the same far off countries.

So this month I tried a few different things with my mail art, like using bolder lettering and collaging my envelopes with various stamps and stickers. I was pleased with the results, but see what you think!

I also had my first piece of mail go missing over this past month which was highly disappointing as I was incredibly excited about my cow themed piece of snail mail. I’m still holding on to hope that it may miraculously arrive at it’s destination in Texas and if not I may summon the courage to try and recreate the moo cow goodness another time.

So here are this months stats: I have sent 22 postcards, 3 letters and 3 cards to a total of 12 countries.

*(Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, England, China, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, U.S.A.)

Outgoing in May

I’ve had so much fun writing letters this month! At the beginning of the month I decided to dedicate a good chunk of time to creating a stock pile of envelopes and this has saved me lots of time, allowing me to simply focus on writing letters.

This month I wrote that daunting first letter to my newest penpal in Germany, finally ticked Spain off my “sent to” list and feel I’ve made some real progress with my hand lettering and faux calligraphy.

So here are the stats: I have sent 23 postcards, 10 cards and 4 letters to a total of 19* different countries.

*(Australia, Belarus, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, England, Finland, Germany, Guernsey, Latvia, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Taiwan, Ukraine and U.S.A.)
