Dear Blossom, when we started out on our home ed journey three years ago our purpose was to secure for you a quiet growing time (as Charlotte coined it) and our initial goal was to get you through the infant school years. Well, here we are at the start of the juniors, we reached our goal and we’re still learning from home together and with no intention of stopping. Thanks for being the guinea pig, my dear. I couldn’t be the Mummy Teacher without your patience, kindness and enthusiasm. Dear Bubbles, I believe 107 conkers from one haul is a personal best for us! Our secret conker tree is proving to be one of the best and we may need to create a Store Stump to stash our future hoards in. But tell me, how do you always find the last conker of the season? You really do have a knack for it you know. The conkering is definitely strong with you two and always makes for a wonderful start to our school year, Papa Bill would be so proud. Dearest Daughters, thank you for living in the moment and forgiving the little things. I learn so much from you.

Dear Blossom, I love that my seven year old still plays with such carefree abandon and I’m so thankful for the space our homeschool can create for pure imagination and whimsy. Our recent Milly-Molly-Mandy walk in particular was incredibly sweet. Thanks for letting me join in your games and bring Mr Rudge along too, you know he’s my favourite. Dear Bubbles, or should I call you Susan? Whatever your name is, you my dear are a sweetheart! You are finding your voice and finding your place and I’m so proud of the progress you have made over your first “school” year. Dearest Daughters, I get to learn with you, grow with you and play with you on a daily basis. I really do love being your Mummy Teacher.
