Projects Around The Open Home #4

Well it’s been quite some time since I updated you on the progress and projects around our home. Following on from my last post we actually decided to delay decorating the girls room and instead have focused our efforts this year on decorating the dining room and finishing off the “almost done” rooms, like the lounge and our bedroom.

Here are some snapshots of our work in progress…

Lots of teenagers and lots of mess was involved when smashing up the old, cracked tile floor.

Hard at work on our dining room floor – thank goodness for big brothers who know what they’re doing!

Fresh walls, new floor and just need to find some curtains and artwork and this room is complete!

A few hours later and the shelves are up and ready to be stained. Just need to source a few more pieces of furniture and this room will also be complete!

Fresh paint, colour coordinated bookshelves and industrial style glass lighting for the hallway.

Soft blues and greys will be the theme for this dreamy girls room, but for now the furniture is at least in situ and we’ve hung some lovely roman blinds.

Our freshly painted room and my next Ikea hack waiting to happen.

Finally have furniture in our bedroom and trying to decide what colour to paint the bureau? Grey or Forest Green…?

Loving our bench and bargain curtains, just need to decide on artwork and this room will also be complete!

What projects have you been working on lately?

Your house looks very peaceful, even when it’s not quite finished! I love your decorating style.

Thank you Karla. 🙂 Fresh, calm and relaxing is what I’m aiming for. I’ve finally decided to just embrace white and I’m loving my Scandinavian style at the moment.

Thank you Emily. 🙂 Well watch this space as I’m hoping to paint up that Ikea bedside cabinet later this month. I also have a writing bureau to transform too.

I remember what the rooms looked like when you moved in and shudder. Now the rooms are transformed and beautiful. You have created a peaceful home where you can relax and enjoy. Well done. Have you ever thought of a career in interior design?

Haha… well as an ISFJ I am the interior designer of the Myers Briggs world. I do like to dabble but don’t think I could make a career out of it. 🙂
